Our Udderly Ridiculous Story

We thought you might like to know a little bit about our goats and wanted to introduce you to a few of our “characters”.

“Strive for Greatness”, isn’t this something we all hope to achieve?

Some have an easier journey than others, but the same goal still remains - how do we reach greatness? What does greatness mean and look like? What if we feel so far from this that it seems impossible?

Fall (and everything pumpkin) is winding down as we gear up to the smells of gingerbread and peppermint candy canes. We are throwing a last tribute to the joy, abundance and spiced pumpkin everything that fall brings.

What better way to celebrate than with our Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream Bites. We often hear our Spiced Pumpkin Ice Cream tastes just like pumpkin pie without the crust… in this recipe we reconstruct it back into a mini pie bite!

November is Women’s Abuse Prevention Month, but as we all know preventing abuse doesn’t end on November 30th, it is up to us all to support ending abuse to women everyday.

In my travels to different women’s shelters last month and my own experience I wanted to provide a little insight into the mystery of it, what happens and how we all can support ending violence.

This is Dennis, I have never met him in person, but the joy, energy & life that emanates from him just screams welcome and come on by for dinner! I just want to pull up a stool, grab a peeler or whatever is needed and hear the story of this man and the lives he has touched.

I love this image, it captures and evokes a sense of childhood wonder – a treasure found (and of all things) in the shape of a heart- the very thing that represent human love.

You can see and imagine so many things from a photo and its subject and yet I don’t know the whole story of this child. I know only one tiny sliver – she spent time at a place called “Nellie’s”.

What does “Thanksgiving” mean anymore? I was recently reflecting on a time in my life I hadn’t thought about for a little while. A time which was incredibly challenging and the many events that led up to that point in my life.

March is upon us, and I can hardly believe we are about to formally launch this Udderly Ridiculous company. I am even more amazed at being able to do that at the One of a Kind Show in Toronto that gets almost 60,000 visitors – what an opportunity to showcase our Goat Milk Ice Cream!

Leading up to the show we have been busy organizing, and at times it feels like a long row of dominos – if just one falls the rest come tumbling down….

In 2015, we began writing a business plan to expand and modernize the (3rd generation) family farm. As the business plan unfolded, a larger vision emerged about how the farm could give back to the community and to the industry. Greg had always wanted to create a product “from the farm” and Cheryl really wanted to bring something different and fun to market - something very few people were doing – Goat’s Milk Ice Cream.
